About Metus
Metus is the name given to our final year group project of BA (Hons) in Communications in Creative Media at Dundalk Institiute of Technology. Metus is a Latin translation for the word Anxiety. The project consists of two members Kevin and Paul. Both members where in successful projects in last years FIS exhibition with Peek DkIT and SoSafe receiving a lot of praise. Kevin and Paul have a strong interest in creating films and creating interactive websites, so this was the project was going to contain. Metus was assisted by Martin Cadden of GROW and helped the group achieve its accuracy towards the content and if it was successful or not. The group looks forward to showcasing their project in this years FIS exhibition.
Kevin McKeever
Designer, Audio, Programmer and Co_Narrative.
I'm 24 years old and from Ardee Co.Louth. I started Creative Media in 2009 in O'Fiaich College and later progressed to DkIT in 2011. I have a strong interest in graphic design and creating fully interactive projects. I also enjoyed the audio and PR modules that we have completed. At last years FIS exhibition, I was part of a very successful group Peek DkIT where we created a interactive tour of the Carroll's building. The knowledge I have gained from the last three years all comes down to this final project. I'm very excited for this years FIS exhibition.
Kevin is the projects main designer and audio producer. He is also in charge of the programming for the interactions that will be throughout the film as well as constructing the website. He will be in charge of recording the audio for the shooting of the video. Finally along with Paul will be creating the script for the narrative.
Paul Smyth
Project Manager, Videographer, Editor and Co-Narrative.
I'm 25 years old and from Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. I started Creative media in 2010 in O'Fiaich college and later progressed into 2nd year DkIT in 2012. I have a strong interest in film and video editing. I started editing when I was 16 years old. At last years FIS, I was part of a successful group called SoSafe where we created an interactive narrative about cyberbulling. I also cited the film section of that project. All of the knowledge that I have gained from my time studying media comes down to this final project. I'm excited for this years FIS exhibition.
Paul is in charge of planning meetings and ensuring time schedules are kept. He is also in charge of shooting and editing of the video elements for the narrative. He also assisted in designing and programming. Lastly along with Kevin, Paul will be creating the script for the narrative.
